About Rewire — Relaxation Me

Train the nervous system toward safety, coherence, and calmer default responses.

Why it helps

The nervous system learns through repetition. Safety cues, coherence, and gentle reappraisal can shift baseline arousal so calm becomes more available under load.

How to practice

  • Begin with a short session while already somewhat settled.
  • Treat each practice as nervous-system training, not an emergency exit.
  • Repeat the same tool for several days so the body learns the new pattern.

Techniques

  • Heart Coherence Breathing — Practice even inhale and exhale around five to six seconds to train heart–breath coherence and calmer autonomic tone.
  • Safety Cue Scan — Name concrete safety signals in the room to update the nervous system’s threat map toward settle.
  • Soft Gaze Reset — Widen peripheral vision and ease eye strain as a visual cue for less threat scanning.
  • Hand on Heart — Use warm chest contact and slow breath as a portable self-soothing cue for the nervous system.
  • Threat vs Discomfort — Sort alarm signals: present danger versus uncomfortable but survivable activation.
  • Window of Tolerance — Locate hyperarousal, hypoarousal, or the middle window - then gently nudge toward workable regulation.
